My Journey – The Story Behind Travel.G
Hello, I’m Ganesh Mapsekar – a hotelier by profession, a Goan by heart, and the co-founder of Travel.G.
For years, I’ve been managing Marina Bay Beach Resort, giving me valuable insights into the tourism industry. But my journey into this field was unexpected. I was pursuing Civil Engineering when the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. With my family needing support, I left my studies and joined the hospitality business. What started as a responsibility soon became my passion.
As I worked closely with travelers, I realized most visitors only saw one side of Goa—the beaches and parties. But for me, Goa is much more. Being born and raised in Candolim, with my roots in Aldona, I grew up surrounded by quaint villages, ancient temples, colonial churches, lively festivals, and peaceful mangroves. This is the authentic Goa I love—the one that often goes unnoticed.
That’s why I started Travel.G—to share the real Goa with you. Through our experiences, we take you beyond the usual tourist spots and introduce you to the culture, traditions, and hidden gems of this beautiful land.
